Before Becky G rises as Power Rangers' disciplined hero Trini, she'll have to fall — backwards, and through a wall.

In an interview with Entertainment Weeklythe 19-year-old recalled shooting an intense fight scene that comes early in the forthcoming reboot film in which Elizabeth Banks' Rita Repulsa attacks Trini at the teen superhero's home. And while blocking and stunt work seemed funny to Becky during rehearsals, she said the sight of Banks in her Rita costume on shoot days immediately got her into character.

"It was just funny...There were just times when I was in my harness hanging there like a little piñata just waiting to get thrown into the wall by Elizabeth, so little things like that cracked us up," she said. "And then when she walks in, not in sweatpants but in full Rita Repulsa costume, I’m like, 'This is gonna be so easy, because she looks so real!'"

Becky said she felt pressure to stack up to Banks, whom she respects tremendously. So, she let go of her fears and committed to getting banged up in the name of impressing her co-star.

"She chokes me and throws me up against a wall, and I actually told her, 'Don’t be afraid to put pressure on my neck,'" Becky said. "Little did I know the next day I’d actually have bruises and feel a little sore."

"There were moments when I had to hit her, and I was like, “Oh my God, I hope I don’t actually hit her!'" she added. "She really let me be hands on in a lot of the fighting, so it was cool."
