Since Donald Trump’s victory last week, there’s been an alarming rise in "biased-based attacks" across the nation. On the East Coast, a park named after the late Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch (aka MCA) in Brooklyn, N.Y., was defaced with anti-semitic graffiti and the scrawling of “Go Trump” on Friday (Nov. 18), according to Billboard.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force and the Parks Department are currently investigating the hate crime. Park officials also said that the equipment will be repainted tonight (Nov. 19). Police have no suspects at this time.

According to the New Yorker, the Southern Poverty Law Center has reported that there were 437 incidents of intimidation between the election, on Nov. 8, and November 14th, targeting blacks and other people of color, Muslims, immigrants, the L.G.B.T. community, and women.

“We’ve seen a great deal of really troubling stuff in the last week, a spike in harassment, a spike in vandalism, physical assaults. Something is happening that was not happening before,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, the national director of the Anti-Defamation League.

Meanwhile, the surviving Beasties - Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz - are holding a peace rally inside Adam Yauch Memorial Park on Sunday (Nov. 20) in Brooklyn, N.Y. Read their tweet below.

Let's stop the hate and increase the peace.
