A 42-year-old Bangor man received a prison sentence of 218 months plus supervised release for eight years for conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin.

Mario Lee, a/k/a “Moe”, entered a guilty plea October 31, 2016. Court records say Lee worked with others to supply and distribute heroin in Bangor and surrounding areas. Lee used the residences and connections of dealers to move heroin in local communities.

Officials said Lee was formerly from the Bronx and faced enhanced penalties as a result of a prior drug trafficking conviction in New York.

The case was investigated by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. This case was investigated and prosecuted as part of the Department of Justice’s Strategy to Combat the Opioid Epidemic.
