BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Police say they arrested a Bangor man for the murder of a 51-year-old man found in an apartment.

The Bangor Daily News reports that police said Saturday they have arrested 29-year-old F. "Frank" Daly with the murder of Israel Lewis. Daly has been charged with murder and is being held at Penobscot County Jail.

Bangor Lt. Tim Cotton said an autopsy conducted by Maine's chief medical examiner concluded Lewis had died of two gunshot wounds.

Police found Lewis dead in his room at 40 Second Street on Jan. 10, after Lewis's girlfriend called 911 around 9:45 a.m.

Cotton said police are continuing to investigate the matter.

This is the city's first homicide of 2018.
