Dwayne Johnson Laughs Off Bad ‘Baywatch’ Reviews, Because Joke’s on Us, We’re Getting a Franchise
It’s gotta be tough for actors and directors when folks don’t like their movie, especially when a lot of those folks are the critics driving the scores on review aggregation websites before the movie has a chance to hit theaters. Baywatch has officially been out since Wednesday, and the critical reception has been… less than great. Some regular non-critics seem to dig the film, which The Rock was quick to pick up on.
Disney CEO Bob Iger Doesn’t Think Disney Was Actually Hacked at All
Remember when Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was held hostage by actual online pirates, and Disney was refusing to pay the ransom despite the hackers threatening to release the film online in 20-minute increments? Yeah, nothing happened with that, did it? Probably because, as Disney CEO Bob Iger said on Thursday, Disney was never actually hacked at all.

Sometimes, because of timing or lack of resources or myriad other reasons, sequels just don’t end up happening even if they’re hyped. But today brings good news for Top Gun 2 hopefuls: it’s definitely happening, and Tom Cruise himself says it’ll start filming within the next twelve months.
New Netflix Instant Releases: June 2017
It’s that time again: time to round up everything coming and going from all the streaming services at the start of the new month. Netflix has a pretty fantastic slate for this June, which includes their Cannes contender Okja, directed by Bong Joon-ho and starring Tilda Swinton and Jake Gyllenhaal. There’s also a few popular 2016 releases like Xavier Dolan’s It’s Only the End of the World, and Catfight, that movie about Sandra Oh and Anne Heche beating the living daylights out of each other. And if you want to hear a bunch of animated plants sing Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence,” give Trolls a shot.
Mel Brooks and MGM Are Still Considering a ‘Spaceballs 2’
Mel Brooks is arguably the king of cult classics, having made a ton of movies in his heyday that are still just as funny now as they were in the ’70s and ’80s. And since the current climate in Hollywood is a combination of sequels, reboots, and nostalgia, it’s no wonder that at least one Brooks comedy is looking to get a sequel. Brooks recently revealed that he’s been chatting with MGM about the possibility of a sequel to his immortal Star Wars send-up Spaceballs.
Luke Skywalker Has Some Rumored New ‘Last Jedi’ Gear to Help Him and Rey on Their Quest
How about a nice little Star Wars rumor to start the weekend? The Last Jedi comes out in a little more than six months from now, and while we know pretty much nothing about the plot, that won’t stop us from speculating about every new prop the cast might be carrying in this movie! Apparently, Luke Skywalker does have some gear with him besides those five books in his cave, and one of these items is particularly intriguing.
‘Wonder Woman’ Shows Off That Sparkly Truth Lasso in Action-Packed New Photos
It wouldn’t be a superhero movie without a glowy weapon of some sort. Wonder Woman has a sword and a shield, but her coolest weapon is her lasso of truth, which makes whomever is stuck in it unable to lie — and also acts as a pretty useful fighting tool on its own. World War I soldiers probably aren’t going to expect to get roped by a screaming Amazon during battle.
