Icy road conditions contributed to a rollover crash on Route 161 in Cross Lake Saturday afternoon, according to the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Deputy Jesse Belanger responded to the single-vehicle accident around 3:00 p.m. Police say 21-year-old Wyatt Condon of Ashland was driving his 2010 Ford Edge north on Route 161 when he lost control and struck a snowbank. The car rolled over onto its roof and ended up in the roadway.

Condon was alone in the vehicle and was wearing his seat belt, according to Chief Deputy Shawn D. Gillen. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent by Ambulance Service Inc.

Icy road conditions appear to have contributed to the crash, Gillen said. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by North Lakes Fire & Rescue.
