Aroostook County School To Recieve Grant Money
The U.S. Department of Education recently announced that the Maine Education Department will receive nearly $25 million in grant money. But, is Aroostook County going to receive a check?
The $25 million grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education is to be divided up between 17 schools in 6 different school districts throughout the state of Maine over the course of 5 years. The grant money will be used to provide pay incentives to teachers in low-income districts.
Good news for MSAD #20 in Fort Fairfield, as they will be receiving some federal grant money. The Maine Department of Education was 1 of 35 winning applicants out of more than 120 applications nationwide. Other than Fort Fairfield, the other regional school districts that will be receiving a chunk of that grant money are Poland, Newport, Millinocket, Bangor, and Gardiner.
What are some improvements you would want to see in your school district?
