Officials say an employee of the Hampton Inn called Ellsworth police Thursday night to report suspicious activity in the hotel parking lot.

Police say they searched two vehicles--a car and a truck--and found ingredients for making methamphetamine in one vehicle and meth being made in the other.

Three people have been arrested on drug trafficking charges: 29-year-old Jessica Jones of Fort Fairfield, 22-year-old Ezra Brady of Bridgewater and 31-year-old Jesse Sawyer of Linneus. All three were guests at the hotel.

Ellsworth Police have said that more than $12,000 in cash was confiscated from the hotel room.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency was on the scene Friday to remove the dangerous materials from the two vehicles.

The three suspects are being held on felony charges at the Hancock County Jail. They face the possibility of up to 10 years in prison.
