One man is in custody after an armed robbery Wednesday evening at the Mars Hill One Stop.

Aroostook County Sheriff’s Deputies, Maine State Police and Border Patrol Agents  all responded to the convenience store at the corner of Route 1A and Benjamin Street around 6 p.m.

Witnesses said a man walked into the One Stop,  threatened the clerk with a weapon and left with money from the cash register.

Police apprehended a suspect, 26-year old Ralph D. Levesque, Jr. as he was walking along the Chandler Road in Blaine later in the evening, according to the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office.

Police say Levesque is also suspected of stealing cigarettes and beer from the Circle K in Mars Hill earlier in the day. He was charged with Robbery and two counts of Theft and was taken to the Aroostook County Jail.

Previously, Levesque had been convicted in an armed robbery in Houlton.  He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant from Lincoln County, Maine.
