Aroostook County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash around 10 a.m. just south of the village of Monticello.

Police say that 64-year-old Murry Lawrence of Westfield was driving south in his 2012 Ford pickup.  As Lawrence was pulling into the far right lane, 74-year-old Gerrard Perron of Presque Isle passed him in his 2002 Toyota Tundra.

Perron lost control of his vehicle and hit Lawrence’s pickup, forcing him off the road into the snow bank, according to a press release the Aroostook County Sheriff's Department.

Perron’s vehicle then slid into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by 38-year-old Nicole MaGuire of Monticello. Sixty-three-year-old Franke Robinson was a passenger in Perron’s vehicle and 25-year-old Shantteal Jones was a passenger in MaGuire’s vehicle.

Perron, MaGuire, Jones and Robinson were all transported to Houlton Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Tundra and the Explorer were destroyed, while the Ford Pickup sustained only minor damage, police said.

Sgt. Forrest Dudley and Sgt. Kris Miller investigated this accident with assistance from Sheriff James Madore, Houlton and Crown Ambulance Services, Monticello Fire Department and Border Patrol.
