Alleged Argument Results In Portage Lake Shooting
An alleged verbal altercation at a residence in the County resulted in shots being fired on Sunday in Portage Lake. The suspect is now in police custody.
The Maine State Police received a 911 call at approximately 9:30 p.m. from a male stating that several shots were fired inside the residence that was intended for another man. Tr. Nathan Desrosier responded to the call and made a traffic stop of one of the men who fled the residence.
The man confirmed that he had been shot at multiple times, but was not injured.
The residence was then surrounded by law enforcement when a man came out of the residence.
Matthew Valone, 47, from Portage Lake was arrested and transported to the Aroostook County Jail and charged with Aggravated Reckless Conduct and bail was set at $5,000. Evidence was collected at the scene and the investigation is ongoing as to what happened before the shots were fired.
