An 18-year-old Caribou man was seriously injured when his bicycle collided with a pickup truck Wednesday night in downtown Caribou.

Caribou Police responded to the accident on Record Street shortly after 8:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Caribou Police Department.

The cyclist, 18-year-old Zachary Roman, was taken to Cary Medical Center with severe head injuries. He was then transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was listed in stable condition on Friday.

The driver of the 2004 Dodge pickup, 42-year-old Dale Haney of Caribou, was not injured.

Investigating officers were Tim Dubois and Aaron Marquis. The accident remains under investigation by the Caribou Police Department.
