2Pac Plaques and Handwritten Lyrics Up for Auction

Just a few days after 2Pac's prison bible was sold for $54,000 comes word from Goldin Auctions that a number of other collectibles from the rapper's lifetime are available for purchase including a previously unreleased essay written from his prison cell in 1995.

That essay, which is included below, was sent to Nina Bhadreshwar at Deathrow Records with the return address of Clinton Correctional Facility, Dannemora, NY just over a month before Pac was shot and killed in Las Vegas. The four page single-sided handwritten letter is titled “Is Thug Life Dead?”

The auction is open from Oct. 10 to 29 with the full range of items on display at GoldinAuctions.com. Other noteworthy items include the above platinum plaque for Me Against the World, a hand-written and illustrated childhood letter to a friend dated Nov. 22, 1988, signed contracts from 1991 for Juice and Poetic Justice, Pac’s first contract with Digital Underground in 1991 and two framed displays of hand-written song lyrics to “Catchin Feelings” and “Wonda Why They Call You Bitch.”

“Twenty years after his unfortunate and mysterious murder his legend continues to grow and he is recognized as one of music’s most significant and ground-breaking artists,” said Ken Goldin, Founder of Goldin Auctions. “We are confident that as Tupac fans get older demand for his memorabilia will continue to grow.”

The essay comes with a signed letter of authenticity from Bhadreshwar.
