You can help send a kid to camp! Tim Hortons programs are designed to change the way young people from economically disadvantaged homes think about themselves and the opportunities that exist for them.

You might be wondering, “What is Camp Day?”  Well, every year, the first Wednesday in June is Tim Hortons Camp Day.  It’s the one day each year when Tim Hortons restaurant owners donate 100 percent of the proceeds from coffee sales to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation, making it the Foundation’s largest fundraiser each year.  This year’s Camp Day happens to be THIS Wednesday, June 3rd!

The fundraising effort will help send more than 16,000 kids on the camping adventure of a lifetime! The really cool thing? YOU can help! All you need to do is guy a cup of coffee at any Tim Hortons location. All proceeds will go directly to sending a kid to camp, who could not afford to go otherwise.

A really neat thing is that all of the children that get to go to camp have been selected from within their own community. So that means that kids from all over Aroostook County and even New Brunswick are actually benefiting from Camp Day. Tim Hortons  Restaurant Owners work very closely with local youth organizations and schools to select children between the ages of 9 and 12, to attend a 10 day summer camp session or seven day winter camp session.

On Camp Day, guests can expect additional fundraising activities at many of their local Tim Hortons Restaurants. For example, funds are also raised at Restaurants through the ‘Rent-a-Tent’ and ‘Rent-a-Cabin’ program where guests can personalize paper cut-out tents and cabins and post them in the restaurant for a donation. Other activities may include: indoor and outdoor games; silent auctions; face-painting; and drive-thru window washing. Some restaurants will invite special guests, including sports and media personalities, to greet guests and pour coffee throughout the day.

We’ll be broadcasting live from Tim Hortons in Houlton, Presque Isle and Caribou on Wednesday! Stop by and say ‘Hey’ and make a donation to help send a kid to camp!
