The holidays are a time to be with family and friends, enjoying each others company, not a time to be alone.

We've come up with a small list of Christmas dinners that will be taking place in Aroostook County in the coming days, so that people can enjoy a holiday meal.

The Fort Kent Senior Citizen Center will be holding a Christmas Meal on Sunday, December 21st, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The meal will include: Baked Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Raisin Sauce, Vegetable, Green Salad, and Dessert. The cost is $7.00. The public is welcome. For more information call Donald Raymond at 834-5865.

The Houlton Lodge of Elks is holding their community Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner on Sunday, December 21st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All area Seniors are invited to attend and enjoy a holiday meal and seasonal atmosphere. For those Seniors not able to physically attend the festivities, advance phone order are encouraged and will be accepted up until the time of the meal. You may reserve meals by contacting the Houlton Lodge of Elks at 532-2791. Meals will be available for pickup between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. There will be no delivery service this year. There is a limit of pickup meals of 2 per household.

There will be a free Turkey dinner on Christmas Day at the Madawaska Knights of Columbus Hall from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for anyone who might be spending the day alone. Come and enjoy community fellowship, delicious food and Christmas caroling. Deliveries will be available for shut-ins. For deliveries or transportation you may call 316-3128.

The Presque Isle Elks will be hosting for the tenth consecutive year, a sit-down, five-course Christmas dinner at noon on Christmas Day, December 25, 2014, at the Elks Lodge located at 508 Main Street in Presque Isle, for anyone who would otherwise be alone at Christmas.
