An accident at the intersection of Main and Maysville Street near the Aroostook Centre Mall Thursday morning sent four people to the hospital.

Presque Isle police along with Presque Isle Fire Rescue and Crown Ambulance were dispatched to the accident at approximately 9:30 a.m,

According to Presque Isle Deputy Police Chief Laurie Kelly, 75-year-old Frank McGillan of Fort Fairfield was proceeding east on a green light through the intersection in a 2010 Chrysler with two passengers.

At the same time, 79-year-old Armand Godin of Caribou was westbound on Maysville Street in a 2006 Nissan with two passengers in his car.

Presque Isle police say Godin failed to yield the right of way and turned left onto Main Street in front of McGillan’s vehicle, causing a collision.

All occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts.  Neither driver was injured but all four passengers were transported by ambulance to the Aroostook Medical Center with complaints of pain.

 PIPD Officer Kevin Schumacher is investigating the crash.
