Police in Cumberland County say a 19-year-old man from Standish, Maine was killed in a single-vehicle crash just after midnight Thursday. 

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Cape Road and Woodbine Drive in the town of Standish for a single motor vehicle crash at 12:05 am.

The operator was determined to be traveling south on Cape Road when he lost control and hit a tree. 19-year-old Trey A. James was driving the Silver 2005 Pontiac Grand AM. Police say he died on scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by the Windham Police Department and and the Standish Fire Department.

The crash is under investigation.
