Topsham police say the boy took the vehicle following an argument with his parents Monday afternoon and drove to Interstate 295.

Police tell the Times Record of Brunswick that the boy refused to stop, driving at speeds between 65 and 98 mph while swerving from side to side, almost hitting other vehicles and the guardrail.

The chase ended in Freeport when the boy's vehicle skidded off an exit ramp, where he was charged with unauthorized use of property, eluding an officer and operating without a license. Officials say he was taken a juvenile detention facility. Nobody was hurt.
